Only You Freestyle

Headie One x Drake

Relentless Records

Released: Out now
Only You Freestyle - Headie One x Drake

We say

Released last night (20 July) at 9pm, having earlier caused a storm on social media when the teaser announcement dropped, this sublime collaboration from north London rapper Headie One and Drake is set to be massive. It’s Headie’s first release since the haunting, 808-laden drill single Rose Gold back in May and his experimental GANG mixtape with Fred again... featuring a host of collaborators like FKA twigs, Jamie XX and Sampha. This time around, he is teaming up with undoubtedly the biggest rap star ever in Drake, who reached out to him via Instagram asking to work together on a track. Underpinned by a piercing and ominous instrumental crafted by M1 On The Beat, Only You Freestyle sees the two rappers taking turns spitting scorching bars, expertly demonstrating their mutually commanding delivery and insatiable flow. It’s big, very BIG indeed. Expect to see this added to a multitude of streaming playlists over the next couple of days and watch the numbers clock up in their millions. Set to be Headie’s biggest number to date thanks to Drake’s first collaboration with a UK artist, this heavy-hitting number is a hit, guaranteed to open doors globally for this formidable talent.

Smooth ballad underscores heartache and freedom

AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, May 12, 2020 - Auckland, New Zealand, bombshell vocal duo Iveta & Simone have announced the release of a smooth new single, “She Used To Be Me”on May, 29th, which outlines heartache and freedom from a woman’s perspective.

Iveta & Simone is an award-winning duo known for their contemporary soulful sound that’s been heard in highly acclaimed singles such as “PSYCHO BABY”, “Weeping”, “L.O.V.E”, and “More Than A Man”.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Iveta & Simone haven’t been touring, but they have been staying active by engaging their fans and followers through Facebook. They’ve also been spending time in the studio, working on new music and ideas. Once the duo is able, they’ll be back on the road and headlining shows in New Zealand.

When they take the stage again, Iveta & Simone will have a new song added to their playlist. “She Used To Be Me” is a poignant ballad about love gone awry, bringing out the misery and the need for breaking away that so often comes with heartbreak.

In the chorus, Iveta & Simone belt out “I’ve gotta be free from all the pain now, she used to be me”, words that resonate in the heart of anyone who has come from a relationship to see the other person move on first.

“She Used To Be Me” will be available for streaming and for purchase through major digital platforms, as well as at the Iveta & Simone website. At the website, all of the duo’s other singles are also available, as well as music videos and more.

Oh My Word - Havelock

We say

Following the release of his debut EP TRY B4U BUY back in Marchwhich featured the RotD track China DollLondon-based artist Havelock is back today with this infectious and punchy number. He can already count editors at Spotify (NMF, Lorem & Anti Pop), Apple Music (Nightcap) and Deezer (Brand New UK, Indie Jukebox) among his tastemaker supporters, along with Huw Stephens and Abbie McCarthy, all of whom have featured his recent music. Co-written with super collaborator Oscar Scheller (Mabel, SHYGIRL, Rina Sawayama), Oh My Word is sure to follow suit with his witty lyricism overlaying a melting pot of 90s soundscapes, from drum'n'bass, punky guitar and Brit-pop charm. If you listen closely, you can hear an element of Mike Skinner from the Streets too. Just brilliant. Watch the animated video here. It looks set to be a busy time for this rising star as he is to release a single and accompanying video each month until the end of the year.
